Christchurch was beautiful before and the smallest things from everyone can help them restore the city’s beauty.

The disasters are piling up, and as humans it is our obligatory job to do every thing we can to help those in need. The first step to reform is to be well informed. Libya is in revolt, New Zealand is recovering from a 6.3 earthquake, Yemen, Morocco and Bahrain are filled with protests, Australia is being hit with cyclones, and Egypt is still in turmoil. These nations and others are dealing with tragedies, but we have a voice, we can help.
Sign the petition to help Libya
Donate to New Zealand and Australia
Don’t have the money to donate? Not a problem! There are THOUSANDS of people on Tumblr who can, do your part and reblog to capture their attention. Knowledge is power. You have the power to spread awareness; you have the power to make a difference.
Help cannot happen without awareness.
Priority. I feel like a lot of you guys don’t understand the meaning of this word.
Less than two hours from my house, the city of Christchurch has turned into a war zone. A 6.3 earthquake struck yesterday just before 1pm. The city was packed with workers, tourists and school students out for lunch. The earthquake that hit us last year was bigger, yes. But this earthquake was shallower, therefore causing more damage. Buildings have collapsed, houses have been destroyed and familys have been broken. A guy I know lost 3 family members, they were in a bus that was crushed by falling rubble and one of my good friends, Jamie, hasn’t been in contact with me since before the quake. Rescue teams are still trying to save people buried under the rubble but the threat of the Grand Chancellor (tallest building in the city) collasping has hindered one of the rescue operations. Thousands of people have been misplaced with no-where to go so they’ve set up camp at a refuge centre in Hagley Park, one of many around the city. The electricty is off in 80% of Christchurch and the water isn’t safe to drink. The hospital is at it’s carrying capacity so other hospitals in the country have had to send patients home in order to make room for those injured in the earthquake. Cell phone coverage is sketchy at best so it’s near impossible to reach loved ones. The problems just keep coming and coming and Christchurch’s future is looking bleak. I guess the point of this blog was to open your eyes. Awareness.
I just ask that you shut up about Justin Bieber’s hair cut for five minutes and pray for the people of Christchurch.A girl I know lost about 6 of her friends to this earthquake.
A guy in my history class hasn’t heard from his mum yet.
A friend of my mums didn;t know what had happened to her auntie…until she saw her being pulled out from the rubble covered in blood on the 6pm news.
My sisters principal lost one of his best friends after a boulder the size of two shipping containers fell from a cliff and on top of his workplace.
So please, please reblog.
Even if you don’t live anywhere near New Zealand. Hell, even if you don’t even know where New Zealand is.
Reblog, spread the word and send us your prayers.

HELP_NZ is a Livejournal community solely dedicated to help Christchurch, New Zealand; it is a fandom auction, focusing to help the relief for Christchurch. If you are a graphic maker, artist, writer, vidder, or someone who is wanting to do something to help New Zealand, please do check out the lj comm.
Once you do head down over there, there will be a poll collecting data about what community participants are willing to do. You can volunteer to help maintain the community, offer to pimp the auction as well as comm on livejournal or other sites like tumblr, or you can sign up to donate something (graphic, home-made goods, etc.) for the auction. It is entirely up to you if you’d like to do one, two, or even all three things. The poll also asks what you can donate. It’s your choice if you’d like to make something on your computer — a graphic, batch of icons, or fanmix, for example — or something you’d like to make that’s handmade. There’s an “I’ll do something else” option if you have any other ideas to contribute that aren’t included in the prior two categories.
Think about participating, guys. It’s for a good cause, and hopefully we’ll be able to make a change and contribute our efforts in helping New Zealand recover from the earthquake that hit. Spread the word!
Breaking News of the Day: A magnitude 6.3 earthquake, which rattled Christchurch, New Zealand today, tragically brought down the spire of the iconic ChristChurch Cathedral.
There are confirmed reports of “multiple fatalities,” and aftershocks are still being experienced at this time.

We all need to help.
Please just spread some awareness about these two awful things that are happening now.
Me and Aly will look into anything that has to do with a earthquake relief fund and our thoughts and prayers are with Libya.
We were so sorry to hear that Christchurch was hit with such an awful earthquake. We definitely have all New Zealand people and the families of the casualties in our thoughts.
